Hi all,
first of all thx to maker of this site for an job well done :)
now to my question :
in one of our local shops i buyed one cable on it´s an label t39 & t68.
So before i gonna buy online creditz to upload latest firmware for my t610 i wanted to be sure if i catch the right cable for flashing ?
The Plug into the Phone fits perfectly but how about the pin´s connection.
As the seller in shop was not sure about it i hope somebody of you could help me out.
Please let me know your experience.

Hi,
Your cable will probably be ok, it's only really the original Ericsson DRS-11 that won't work. You can test the cable using the unlock or flash program before you buy any credits though! Just run the program and connect your phone to the cable (make sure the phone is turned off) now press unlock and the program will ask you to power on the phone, press the power button and if the cable is the right one the program will move onto the next step and check your user/pass with the server.
You won't unlock the phone but you will know if your cable is suitable :)
Cheers, Paul K
Hi,
If anyone else is wanting a cable you should ask the shop/seller if it is a T28 unlock cable. If it is then that's the one you need to unlock or flash a T610.

Hi,
thx works fine here :-D
pitty only to pay always 15 € for only updating one flashfile.
As i saw on one chinese forum there will be out soon another firmware
r1n001.

Hi,
Don't forget you can't do a complete firmware upfrade yet! Just change the languages of the one you have.
I'm trying to negotiate some sort of reduced rate on logs with the supplier, will keep you updated.
I should be able to get any new firmware a couple of days after it's released, soon as I have them I'll upload them ready for when the software author sorts out ARM flashing.
Cheers, Paul K
I Tried to read the Codes & reset the GDFS and the program refuses saying the following Message
[can't open specified device \\.\COM1 (Error5, Access is denied)]
does it mean that i'm using the wrong cable although it said in the website where i purchesed it from i can use this to unlock the T610 using the REMOTE UNLOCK SERVER
and the cable model is ERI-T28
THANKS
Hi,
Sounds more like something else on your system is accessing COM1 and because of that the unlocker gets the denied messages.
Try on COM2 if possible and see what happens...
Cheers, Paul K
Hi,
when i got you right, its not possible to flash the firmware atm except the language one ?
Thx in advance.

Hi,
That's right! Until the software author sort's out ARM flashing you can only change languages and not upgrade to a different version i.e. you can't go from R1A081 to R1L013.

I was reading somewhere that you can actually do ARM flashing by modifing the T28 cable. Is it true? And if so is it a "safe" procedure?
Thanks,
---Mirco.
Hi,
It's kind of true :? You could modify a cable (I have the schematics) but you would need to flash the AVR and ARM as two seperate flash's and as such would need a credit each time. Murphy (the software author) is trying to make it so that you can use one cable and therefore only use one credit.
I would imagine it's relatively safe as long as the cable was built correctly!

Hi,
somebody not tried to crack this software ?
anyway all those se toolz is only business making bull****.
The work of the authors dont stand in any relations on what all those programs costs. :x

Hi,
There is nothing to crack! The program connects to a server which is running the full Ericsson EMMA II service kit. The reason you connect to a server is so that it can generate a perfect boot authority and not try some bypass trick which could kill your phone.
EMMA II kit's aren't cheap, it's not cheap to get the service card re-filled either and that's why it's not free.
Murphy has spent the last four months doing nothing all day but develop this solution, I think he deserves to make some money out of it, after all, we all have to eat!
If you want free build yourself a terminator dongle, run the cracked DIV and hope it doesn't kill your phone!

Hi Paul,
could you post/send me the schematics on how to modify the T28 serial cable to do ARM flashing? I guess it'OK to use 2 credits.
Do you do the ARM first and then the AVR?
Thanks,
---Mirco.
Hi,
I'll upload the schematics to the Ericsson section tomorrow morning.

Hallo erveryone!
Maybe I missed it somewhere but what is ARM flashing actually good for. Is it essential in order to get the fully original SE phone (without any modifications by providers like Vodaphone)?
If so, am I not going to need three credits for flashing AVR, ARM and GDFS?
And there's another question on my mind: What happens when I update the firmware at a SE service point after I've gone through ARM-ARV-GDFS-Flashing procedure. Will I have to redo it, or is it not affected by updating the firmware. I ask this question, because I've read somewhere on a German newsgroup that the EMMA-Server identifies the phone by it's IMEI code (that's the purpose of it) and so can tell if the phone is a branded one (even when the branding has been removed) and automatically selects for example the Vodafone-version (EU7) of the firm ware update.
So I wonder if one wouldn't have to change the IMEI of the phone, too (I don't know if this is possible at all), to avoid this "rebranding" process?
Sorry for any typos and punctuation and/or grammatical mistakes and thanks in advance for any helping answers!
Greetings from Germany
Hi Paul,
Actually Murphy, on the www.sonyericssonserver.com site is showing a “Flashing GOLD Edition 4.10 screen shot with a T610 being flashed with both R1L013 AVR and ARM in sequence and at the same time (which is exactly what I need to do as well).
Is this really possible with the T28 service cable? What cable did he use?
Thx,
---Mirco.
Thanks for your support,
---Mirco.
Hi,
@ altumspatium... There are essentially three parts of the flash on your phone:
AVR: This is basically the menus, icons and languages of your phone. This is what you flash to remove the Vodafone menus and icons.
ARM: Is the data side of your phone, controls things like GPRS, Modem and bluetooth.
GDFS: Contains the WAP and browser locks, start-up and shut down logos and a few other items, this also needs flashing to remove vodafone customisations.
Now here's the problem, you can change the language pack of your phone without any problems if you stick to the same firmware version but if you change it to a higher or lower version without upgrading the ARM to the same version you will damage the phone.
EMMA 2 software will flash the phone with EU7 and won't (shouldn't) let you change it, it's not done by the IMEI but by the product code stored in the memory of the phone.
If you want to flash it yourself you don't need to change the IMEI of the phone!
@ Mirco.. Murphy cheated! lol. He's using the ARM cable made from the schematics available for download. As he has a EMMA 2 kit he may also be using the green adaptor?!?
At the moment he's spending most of his timeworking out a solution for repairing four lock's closed on badly upgraded T610's. No definate time frame on him aking it so you can ARM flash over a standard cable.

Hi All and especially Paul_K,
Finally I found the info I was looking for. I tried to flash my T610, but got an Timeout error, so this is probably because of the fact that a special circuit is needed.
As my phone currently has an AVR/ARM version mismatch I will need to either wait for Murphy or build the circuit.
I do however have ONE question. When I modify my current cable to include the circuit will it still work with the other software (unlocking, GDFS flash etc.) ?
And something that is not clear to me as well is wether flashing the GDFS will reset the counter for unlocking.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Bas.
Hi,
I don't think the cable will work once it's modifed for anything other than flashing the ARM, I will check for you though.
Flashing the GDFS file won't reset your counters, it will just remove the customising from the phone.
Cheers, Paul K
Hi,
I've looked at the diagram and it does look like it won't work for normal operations. This means I will either have to buy a new cable or think of a way to make it switchable. Do you have the schematics of the cable without the circuit inbetween ?
I just found out that the 4 locks on my phone isn't something that is easily fixable. I got the 4 locks after I mistakenly upgraded my AVR and then downgraded again. So to all who attempt to upgrade their AVR.... don't!! You'll be in trouble afterwards.
Regards,
Bas.
Hi,
Murphy is working on a update to his program to sort out your four locks closed as we speak!
I'll try and find the original schematics for you.
Cheers, Paul K
Hi y'all!
I also flashed my T610 with the help of SES and now I am helping people in Germany to do the same =)
I have a question about the "green adapter". Has anyone ever seen one? I know that Murphy writes about it in his FAQ but I never found one to buy on the internet. Do you know any sources?
TIA!
Greetings,
Trinity
Hi,
As far as I know it's only available from SonyEricsson for their service centres :(
Cheers, Paul K
I couldn't find any schematics of t28 unlocking cable.
I bought this one on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5703051067
but it's not working with gold server.
Is there any way to rebuild it? Does it have to have a circuit Max 3232 or the one without it also can be used?
Please help
Thanks
