View Full Version : Build Terminator Dongle
Hi Guys,
I would like to flash my T610 (VF branded) with the latest Firmware and of course to get rid of the soft-brandings. I downloaded the Terminator Dongle Schematic and Hex. I want to build this Dongle but I'am not completely sure if this works. Which software can I use with the dongle ? Please help, cos I'am a newbie. If Iam right, I don't need the smartcard reader in the dongle if I use the cracked DIV version. Correct me if I am wrong please.
You are right. You will have to use with DIv 8.2 cracked and nothing more
Just one more question. Iam not sure which schematic I have to use. I found several. Some speak about that it work only with the terminator by zulea. Do someone have a schematic, that works 100% with cracked div ? I am not sure which one to use, so my work will maybe useless. Please help. Thanks a lot.
If you don't want to have worked in vain, I advise you to buy a terminator dongle 8)
Hi lawa2000,
I'm interested in build my own Terminator Dongle, would you please share your info with me. Thanks a lot.
My e-mail: stephentam@hotmail.com
best regards,
Stephen
I would like to see the schematics too. I already purchased a Dongle, and I am waiting for it to arrive. But it will be interesting to see how it works
What for are these DIV patched T610 Flash Files ?
Please explain it some1 to me.
@Gee
What for du you need this schematic, when you get a fully manufactured dongle ? I'am quite sure, you won't see how it works looking on the schematic.
I'am not sure if its ok, when I upload the schematic here.
I got a manufactured dongle, it's different from the schematic. there is sim card lock on the manufactured one. I will post the photo later
But i have saw another one is w/o sim card lock in some website
i just got this, and it works good

I am just curious more than anything else. I doubt anyone can build a dongle better than one manufactured. The connectors are hard to obtain for the phone unless you butcher a T28 and a USB cable.
I got my dongle for $10 USD + S&H and I am still waiting for it to arrive. Can't beat that price.

Where did you get it at such a low price :?:
If you have already received it, does it work :?:
Thank you :!:
No, I still have not received it yet. I bought the cable in HK for $10 USD + $25 Shipping. They said it could take up to six weeks. After all I am in the other side of the world.
The site is

The specific link for the cable is

I have got it, and it's working well
Hi all, can anyone tell me what the simm card slot in the dongle is for, i know its for a simm/smart card but what one and why ??
THANKS
STEVE
Hi,
It's for the DIV smartcard, not needed for cracked version.
Cheers, Paul K
Do all the dongles have this inside? ive just orderd one, but it dont come with a smart card, where do i download the cracked div 8.2
THANKS
STEVE
Hi,
Not all dongles have the holder, it's not needed if running cracked DIV.
Cheers, Paul K

But... what kind of shipment did you choose?
Hope not airmail parcel, 'cause that's the way I would get it (to Italy it's 168HK$ - about 30EUR), and if that takes 6 weeks, that's a piss-poor service. I would rather go with DHL... :-|
They never mentioned what method they are using to ship. All they told me was that it could take up to six weeks to Canada and the fee was $25 USD. I guess they are trying to make money on the shipping.
How much can this thing weigh? The damn shipping costs more than the product itself.

They say the net weight is 0.13 kg, and the gross weight 0.63 kg... but I thought you can choose the shipping method. At least on the FAQs... I think the try to FAQ us :P
Hi Guys,
One question..this cable and software..will it run on win XP pro???
Zak
I took mine from one-stop-shopping.com and seriously hope it won't take 6 weeks to be shipped... :? looking forward to getting rid of VodaCrap 4-colors ugly icons...
I agree Blueworld. I hope they don't FAQ us.
I already got rid of the Vodafone customizations on my phone. I just want the dongle so I don't get raped every time I need to upgrade my firmware.
Hi all, can anyone tell me what the simm card slot in the dongle is for, i know its for a simm/smart card but what one and why ??

hi steve, since when working on the smart card with DIV6.2 where needs that SIM slot to working with. it's our initial design of putting it there. and such smart cards are still existing & circulating in the market, so, it's better to keep such hardware design. But the latest cracked DIV do not need it any. please try to download & test it, it works also on T610:

Any further query re. the product or its related technical side, please post here, we would try to reply accordingly.
thanks / Henry

hi gee, i check over with my colleagues where we didnt mention the sending time needs 6 weeks, usually, air parcel takes 2 - 3 weeks reaching to Canada. And we are available of the inventory for the unlocking tools & datacable offering.
We also provide the different options of the shipment:
http://www.tele-way.com/customerservice.htm
pls also check from our FAQ page as well
time by time, we recommend of using the freight collect service. We show the price under the terms of FOB HK due to those different options of the shipment, air parcel, international courier, freight forwarder, local delivery, freight collect etc...
And of course the buying of 1 pieces is not an economic decision due to the relative higher on the indirctly cost, e.g., min charge from the post office, same safety packing weight etc.. People often buying in the amount for few hundreds in our b2b shop.
thanks / henry
we highly suggest for all customer to read the product specification to evaluate the product & supplier first.
If there is still any point unclear, please email to the supplier to confirm the points.
DO NOT buy anything which is NOT clearly known.
when the question or query is logic, all suppliers over the world are willing to settle it as well.
(pls note: we do not offer any service to teach or explain the phone service, e.g., unlocking, flashing etc.., the user should be avilable of such knowledge or at least at the theory level)
@tele-way
Seeing as you are using this forum as an advertisment, perhaps you could explain why you don't provide some teaching on your site, so that people can be absolutely sure that what they are going to buy will do the job. We have the experience of one person who might have purchased the wrong product. You could have saved him both the expense and trouble if you had helped him by designing your site in such a way that guided him to the correct choice.
I also wondered why it takes six weeks to ship to Canada? Do you send by surface mail? I received my Terminator from Spain to New Zealand in just over a week - thats half way around the world - and the freight cost me just 11 Euro. I have gotten the impression from others here, that your freight is particularly expensive. Care to comment?
Cheers Mike
@mruane
What shipping service do you use??? 11 EURO??? Autually in HK, the EMS is the cheapest for 3 working days shipping.. I still paid about 22 USD for that.
Actually ppl can check the freight on the official website, half kg would cost you about 80 NZD... BTW, get a terminator dongle for US10, plus US40 on DHL, still cheaper....isn't it?? :o :o :o
hi mike,
we do not intent to advertise in that section. advertising did put in the sales section according to the regulation. Just some emails come to us saying known it from that forum (when match with the timing, it can be found) who wants us teaching them from the basic. actually, when install the sw, connect to the phone & run it, the phone can be unlokced promptly!!
we do also provide the screenshot for the user to double check it.
(we're the regulation obeyer, if any text out of the rules, we respect the moderator should delete it!!!)
we provide the teaching, but the user must try it first themseleves according to the specification advised in the web-page. if there is still not worked, we would provide the techinical support to solve the problem. (coz online is DIY media, the people in that media should be dynamic enough to gather the contents first)
The buyer should know what's the product they need, if they do not know, they should at least ask what's the problem on the phone or what service on the phone they needed & we would advise the right suggestion or products. And in that case, the user do not ask us any & seems even not yet read from the website nor download the sw to test too.
All the shipment are under the choices by the customer, we default the DHL. 6 weeks is not the possible time, we did even ever export some african countires where even less than 6 weeks, it should only be the private text instead of advised from us. I would like to invite that member to show me how was the 6 weeks taken for his order.
And all the price is listed in the website from post office where we do add their hyperlink in our website too for the customer to calc the budget themseleves. The hyperlink incl others, e.g., DHL, FedEx, EMS, UPS, TNT, air parcel etc. all the price there are shown publicly.
I must repeat: Any shipment method are under the choices from the customer & the budget of the shipment can be found from the provider respectively, we suggets the freight collect.
we are willing to help the member as soon as the query are the serious & the fact
Hi Flin
I used DHL. They were not as fast as Fedex but the package arrived safely and for a reasonably cost.
I am not questioning your wisdom in making your choice - far from it. I realy could care less what anyone else pays for what they buy, just so long as they are happy with it.
I am very happy with my purchase.
Cheers Mike
@mruane
fair enough..... coz i dont work here. gotta save money for myself...
so i am always looking for the cheaper place to get the stuff i want....
Hi tele-way
Thanks for your feedback. I take your point about people needing to research what they buy, but you will have noticed that many of the posters in this forum (me included) know very, very little about flashing their phones. That is one of the reasons forae such as this exist - to help - and I am very grateful for all the help I have received. So providing a way to guide people to the correct choice could be a useful addition to your site. I have just spent a few moments looking through your site and I must admit I found it a little difficult to understand that the Terminator Dongle would have been what I was looking for.
Cheers Mike
My 2 cents - it's not worth building the thing, too risky to burn your phone 4ever. With these prices (once the right item has been chosen :-D ) it doesn't pay off, the electronics parts cost a total of 10-15 € alone....
caruso
P.S. Paul - just got the message my paypal went through.... so I am waiting for logs now....
I've just finished building my own Terminator Dongle, and it works great. Just flashed my T610 and the Vodaf. crap is gone. I'am very happy :-D :-D :-D
Tele-Way - I waited 2 weeks and then inquired about a tracking number. I was told by someone in your office that shipping may take up to six weeks. The package actually arrived during my inquiry, but I was not home to receive it and it was sent to my local post office. The mistake was mine. Please accept my apologies.
I will have to say that your site was not too helpful for beginners. I looked and the only reference to Sony Ericsson was the device I purchased. It looked exactly like the Terminator Dongle posted on other sites. The actual Terminator Dongle has NO DESCRIPTION so it would be hard for someone to know what it does.
Caruso - I agree, for $10 it is better to buy something manufactured instead of building your own. But you will always get a sense of accomplishment when you build it yourself. Also, you tend to understand more about what is going on when you build it.

how do you build the pcb panel?????
You don't need to build the PCB Flin, you can just solder the bits straight onto the IC holder. Its many years since I had a soldering iron in my hands and now that my eye's are what they used to be, I may not get to smell solder again. Pity. Use to love building electronic stuff.
So good on you Iawa2000 for having a go and I am glad that it worked out for you. Just out of interest, did you find most of the bits in your junk box or did you have to go to Tandy for the bits?
Cheers Mike
@flin:
I will post a picture of it when I am back home.
@Mruane:
I did not really understand your last 2 senteces :(
everyone here is so nice lar...thanks lawa2000 and mruane...
I agree with lawa2000, I dont understand the last 2 sentences what Mike said....
Hi Iawa2000
Well I was just asking whether the capacitors and IC's were things you had lying around. When I was into electronics (as a hobby), it was not uncommon to have lots of electronic components lying around the workshop (resistors, capacitors diodes, IC's etc). So I wondered if you were able to build this from bits and pieces you already had or did you have to purchase them especially?
Cheers Mike
Hi Flin
Gosh I must be just getting too old for this. My eyes are not as good as they used to be - which makes it difficult to focus on small components such as IC sockets etc 8O and I am now loosing the ability to communicate using the written word. :-D
Pay no attention - I am just rambling...
Cheers Mike
hahaha....
use magnifier....   my eye sights are still good ...but i'm not interest in that electronic stuff... I like using it but DIY....
....tends to be frustrating - spending hours on assembling something and then it doesn't work.....
I have had all parts except the PIC and the oscilator.

http://home.arcor.de/krosi/dongle_down.jpg
Its more a prototype but its working 100%. Maybe I'll make a real PCB and put it in a case.
Mike, I understood your last two sentances perfectly. But I doubt they have a Tandy in Germany. I am surprised they have one in New Zealand.
BTW. for those that don't know. Tandy is the parent company of Radio Shack in the USA and Canada. I wasn't aware that they were in other parts of the world.
Iawa - Very nice solder job. What is the IC in the middle or is it two SIPP resistor packs?
Thanks Gee
I was beginning to think that I was completely loosing the plot. You have restored my faith.
Actually we do have a Tandy chain in New Zealand but they are not involved with electronics, they sell music!
However you are correct, I was referring to the Radio Shack variety.
Cheers Mike
lawa, you've done a good job.... nice.... for those who can NOT build their own dongle, like me, have to buy one from somewhere... 8) 8) 8)
@Gee: its the socket for the PIC. Or du you mean some other part ? The PIC on that pictures is missing. It wasn't programmed when I took the pictures.
