t610 ring volume

Hello!

I have this problem with my t610... When a friend tries to beep me i can't hear it since at first there is that simple ringtone like an old telephone and then the polyphonic ringtone starts graduatelly ( yes i removed the option about increasing ring )..
Is there anyway i can make it start in a nomal way ?

This is supposedly a bug in the R1A firmware. I've heard rumors that the R1L firmware fixes this.

This is not a bug, but a feature - it will stay, because it is built in with a purpose - to protect you from "acoustic shock". When you turn the volume to loudest, you will see a message that says "loud ringtones can damage your hearing" or alike....

Maybe its a legal requirement somewhere (the US ?) so they probably decided to standardize it. Don't want to be sued by some crazed US lawyer for missing warning signs.....

You hear a sound which resembles the "old phone" ringtone, but shorter and quieter; then the first ringtone starts. If you disactivated increasing volume you will hear the first ringtone at low level, the next one loud.
If you have increasing volume, you will hear the 2nd ordinary ringtone increased, not yet loud.

You end up missing parts of the ringtone, though, if in a loud environment.

apparently the problem is gone for this guy after he flashed it R4C003. i'm thinking to flash back but if anyone can confirm this prior to me doing that, i'll be very grateful.

The problem stays - I had it with R4 and still with R6. The first short ring tone (other than the choosen polyphonic one) is at low volume, the choosen ring tone immediately after it starts with about half volume increasing to full volume at the end of the ring tone, the second ring tone is full volume. However, it seems to be better than in elder firmware versions (I did not test it systematically, so maybe I am wrong). I can live with it. However, if the official reason for this "feature" is preventing ear damage, that's a joke. The SMS signal comes immediately with full volume, so if you want to make your friend deaf, don't call him, send a SMS ;-)
